Autumnal sketching skills

One member of Rowan class went exploring in his local area and found these conkers.

Today we have been practising our sketching skills using natural objects from our local area. We noticed that the conkers were all at different stages and decided to sketch them at each stage. We had to think about the different ways that we could use our pencils to show the textures and colours in the conkers. We also discussed what conkers are, what they are for and why they have those terrifying spikes on the outside. Have a look at our terrific sketching below.
